At Braille Press, our digital files remain freely downloadable under Creative Commons licensing, because knowledge belongs to everyone.

Printing, binding, and postage live in the real world. Those costs have to be accounted for honestly. When you purchase a printed edition, you're not paying for permission to learn. You're covering physical production and sustaining the mission that created these materials in the first place.

If you have the means to compile and print yourself and you're comfortable with that process, that's fine. If you want to help these projects grow and you need printed materials, we thank you.

The Braille Dictionary and Help Guide

Compiled by a U.S. Army veteran who became blind due to a stroke, this is the go-to manual for anyone with low vision. UEB Braille starts with the alphabet, the numbers, punctuation, bathroom signs, elevator signs, folding money to identify denominations, an alphabetical listing for Level 2 Braille, how to train someone to guide you, phone apps for the blind on iOS and Android, screen readers and cheat sheets, older Braille you may run into, and ScripTalk for medications.

The current guide is for low-vision learners, teachers, and families. A tactile Braille version is upcoming.
